VIDEO ✍ 007 --> IMMEDIATE EVACUATION ORDER
[Considering a castle just fell out of the sky, Chief Inspector Javert appears somewhat shaken, but otherwise deceptively calm, his expression a statuesque maelstrom of indecipherable shock. After all, he is one of those lucky few that stood directly underneath the Overlord's former domain as it veered straight over the tops of the District Five government buildings. His hair, naturally, is quite frazzled from the impact and subsequent quake, and for once his hat is in his hand and not atop his head.
He orders, with urgent, cold, and commanding ferocity,]
There will be an immediate evacuation for District One and District Five. All non-official security persons must vacate One and Five with haste! You will be escorted and ... assisted by an officer of the law if you cannot do this in a timely fashion. [The corner of his mouth twists and dips into a grimace.] Any persistent stragglers will be dealt with.
Follow the main streets and boulevards to Village Espoir and District Three. There the police will dole out the emergency rations and accommodations.
Should anyone need any assistance, you will call Inspector Javert at this number.
[Conference call addendum to the POLICE FORCE:]
Begin with the evacuation. I will not have dim-witted fellows poking about the wreckage to get themselves into a swift and untidy death!
Once this task is finished, report to the Southern shore of Lake Meridian for duty.

I know it's dangerous, but I can help better if I'm with your team.

How? [His tone is calm and patient, but firm. He arches a brow.] Are those arms strong enough to carry grown men on your back?

*And why shouldn't he? These are the fruits of Danny's lies. A dark little corner of the his mind congratulates itself at this, but the rest of him merely shifts gears. He's been out of game for too long: he'd almost forgotten that his help never meshed well with systems.*
*With this in mind, Danny's shoulders sag, and he looks away in apparent frustration.*
No. They're not.

It is strange, to say the least. But Javert says nothing, merely regarding the boy with a swelling curiosity. There's no reason to believe that Danny is capable of more than he appears... is there?]
no subject
*It's not hard to fake the beginnings of a sulk, even while studiously ignoring the Inspector's continued gaze.* I'll get started right now.

She`s shook a little deeper than usual, her worry displayed obviously in the way her eyes brush over Javert`s face as if trying to read his thoughts. If he was disturbed from the events, her own concern would only triple. Naomi brushes the hair from her face, a calm and casual gesture, before she speaks.
She`s happy to see Javert wasn`t in the wrong place when it fell, even if he was a bit too close for comfort.]
Have you heard of any major medical emergiences yet?

[What was really at work behind this disaster is certainly lingering in the back of the Inspector's mind, but it isn't his priority at the moment. His first and foremost duty is to ensure the safety of the Somarium people... and to secure the investigation.
About the disaster itself, however, Inspector Javert is a difficult man to read. What Naomi could see with the naked eye is his rumpled and untidy appearance. The Inspector was outside when the Castle descended and crash landed in the desert, so the wind and debris whipped around him as if it were doomsday epitomized. Overall, aside from a few scratches, he looks physically to be none the worse for wear.
Beyond that, Javert is stoical, serious, very grim, but completely unflappable. There is an unsurprised darkness and exasperated weariness in his eye, as if he were waiting for the day that a disaster of this scale would occur. He cannot say that the occurrence wholly shocks him. Somni was overdue for a new spat of chaos. But there is also a very faint flicker of relief in his cold eyes, that the castle should crash in the desert instead of dead center of a district.
After all, he could not afford another reconstruction and renovation of Naomi Hunter's government district lab. Or was there something else underscoring that grim, annoyed, but relieved figure?
He examines Naomi superficially for damage, his grimace deepening at her shock.]
Don't say-- You intend to offer your services.
[He trains one of his infamous, searing gazes through her.]
... Is your head clear enough for it?
no subject
Stare all you want, Javert.]
Just as clear as yours, I`m sure.
no subject
You must dress the part, then. Don't you have anything practical to put on your feet in that closet of yours? Not heeled shoes.
no subject
Where do you need me?

[In the feed, Javert appears to look up at something above the edge of the screen.
He says, tersely and mysteriously, whilst he replaces his hat back atop his head,]
I won't waste time on an explanation. Come with me, rather.
[Click. He hangs up.]
[ACTION]
When she finally emerges from her room, blouse buttoned up partially to make herself look 'more practical', the doctor freezes for the briefest of seconds upon spying Javert already in her home.
This wasn't the first time he'd just let himself in either. It seems like this was beginning to be a common occurrence. Wonderful.]
That was quick. Already expecting to recruit me?
[ACTION]
But if there is one thing the Inspector cannot deny it is her usefulness as a medical doctor during this disaster. She is one of the most capable physicians in Somarium, despite it not being her specialty, and with the anticipated injuries and trapped civilians in the castle's debris, she is a necessary addition to the investigate and rescue team.
When Naomi emerges from her room, Javert is examining whatever damage, if any, he can see in her lab. He is making another mental tally of things that must be replaced. Again. With his hard-earned money to make up for his mistakes in the explosion caused by Diva. He murmurs,]
No. I was... in the neighborhood. There are many stubborn stragglers here.
[Like yourself, Naomi.
The Inspector raises his head and regards her with a scrutinizing stare.]
That is the best you can do? The streets are a mess. And we will go near the desert later.
[ACTION]
There's a moment where she is frozen in place, regarding Inspector Javert with a careful, but intense gaze. He appears the same as he did over the network--frazzled, but unharmed. Good. She's pleased with that for now. Time to move onto other things.
Pulling her dark hair back into a much firmer ponytail, Naomi crosses through the room, moving past the tall man towards the front door. There's an impatience in her movements, a need to hurry and get to the scene of the damage. The woman fears she's already wasted far too much valuable time preparing to head out.
She casts a look over her shoulder at him, obviously waiting.]
You don't need to worry about me. I'm ready. Lead the way, Inspector.
no subject
Hm, no.
Police Force Conference
Sir with your permission I'd like to make sure people stay safe and away from the castle.
[Though secretly this is an excuse to go in himself.]
no subject
Inform M. Edgeworth once you are there that I will follow you.
[After all, Javert doesn't intend to go to the castle yet; he is leaving that in the hands of his men for now. There is far too much other extremely important work to be done at this moment for that.]
no subject
[Harry salutes the screen before signing off. Of course by the time Harry gets there he decides it's more worth his time to go straight in. No sense in wasting time after all~]
NO I'M NOT TROLLING AT ALL.
no subject
I am a government official. I represent the man in power, but I am not he.
But don't think that undermines my authority to issue an evacuation.

S-Sir...? I don't mean to sound like I'm being defiant or anything, but... I've been military-trained to provide service in situations like these, so I would like to stay and offer my assistance if needed. I would be more than happy to, as it is my duty as a soldier to help civilians in need.
no subject
What is your rank, Mam'selle Soldier?
no subject
My rank is that of Lieutenant, sir.
no subject
...Very well. I will try you.
[He raises his intimidating, cold eyes to Noel once more.]
You wanted to join the police? Consider this your audition. Work. If you run into any trouble, tell them Inspector Javert sent you.
no subject
Sir! I will do my best to meet or exceed expectations! I shall now commence in assisting residents to evacuate to the designated areas.

Put four to each tent. It is not comfortable, but it will have to do.

This still doesn't answer what we're going to do about the castle.

[This he hisses with distraction, as if he doesn't quite believe there is. He raises his eyes again to Tamaki.]
You will evacuate, then. And bring your friends.

Thank you for your assistance, Inspector.

[A bit nonchalant if anything, not really shaken up]

[and then, an abrupt question:]
Are you alone?

[Represent him huh? Seems like he might as well be in charge of that division too]
If it puts you at ease I have a butler, so no.
